Mousavi concedes to regime: Scientist was killed by Iran’s enemies

In a gesture of reconciliation toward the regime, Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi conceded Sunday, Jan. 17, that the Iranian scientist Mehsoud Ali-Mohammadi murdered outside his home last Monday was the victim of Iran's "enemies," namely the US and Israel.
The opposition had previously blamed his death on the "tyrannical regime's" campaign to wipe out the intellectual elite backing the reform movement.

Iranian technicians have moved highly sophisticated technical equipment into the uranium enrichment site in preparation for starting it up, the nuclear watchdog reported Monday.
"Cooperation with Iran in the nuclear field is in the interests of Westerners. Their opposition will make Iran more powerful and advanced," Ahmadinejad said in a statement posted late Sunday on the presidential Web site.

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney sought to dispel doubts about his opposition to abortion while campaigning Friday in the heart of South Carolina's Bible Belt.
"I am firmly pro-life," the former Massachusetts governor told about 100 Republicans at a restaurant here. "I was always for life."
When pressed about his former stance in favor of abortion rights, Romney said he knew he could do nothing to change the law while governor. "Every act I've taken as governor has been in favor of life," he said.
