A film about the Prophet Mohammad backed by the producer of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Matrix" is under discussion, a Qatar media firm said on Sunday, aiming to create an English-language blockbuster for the world's 1.5 billion Muslims.

Filming of the $150 million movie is set to start in 2011, with Barrie Osborne as its producer, Alnoor Holdings said.

Al Qaeda's No. 2 Taunts Bush Over Iraq Plan

Al Qaeda deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri mocked U.S. President George W. Bush's plan to send more troops to Iraq, saying militants could wipe out the entire U.S. army, according to an Internet video posted on Monday.

Zawahri's comments were published on the Web site of the U.S.-based SITE institute, www.siteinstitute.org, which searches and analyses militant networks. It said the video was broadcast on al Qaeda's multimedia arm as-Sahab, which it monitors.

"Why send 20,000 only? Why not send 50 or 100,000? Aren't you aware that the dogs of Iraq are pining for your troops' dead bodies?" he said.

The guy is begging for death. Of course statements from a mad, pompous, islamo-fascist is expected. Kinda sad really. He needs to be careful of what he asks.

Zawahri taunted Bush further by inviting him to send the whole U.S. army to Iraq, and said the "mujahideen" were capable of destroying the equivalent of 10 armies.

He reiterated past offers to the U.S. people of security by reaching an "understanding" with Muslims, and said peace would be impossible if Americans continued to follow the policies of Bush and his administration.

"If we are secure, you might be secure, and if we are safe, you might be safe," the Web site quoted Zawahri as saying.

Turning to Afghanistan, Zawahri said the United States had failed to deprive the Taliban of a haven there and had had to turn to NATO for help.

Zawahri urged Muslims to launch a jihad or holy war, saying Bush's plan to send more troops to Iraq made it an obligation for all Muslims to defend Islam.

Any Day Could Be The Day For Saddam

BAGHDAD, Dec. 26 -- An Iraqi appeals court on Tuesday upheld a ruling to execute deposed leader Saddam Hussein for crimes against humanity and said he could hang within 30 days. "From tomorrow, any day could be the day of implementation," chief judge Aref Abdul-Razzaq al-Shahin said at a news conference in Baghdad.

Thats 30 more days then what he gave his victims.

Hussein's execution would cut short his prosecution for campaigns in the 1980s and '90s in which his government allegedly killed at least tens of thousands of Iraqi Shiite Muslims and Kurds. He is currently on trial for the so-called Anfal campaign, in which chemical weapons were used to wipe out 180,000 Kurds.

News of the decision traveled fast on the streets of Baghdad. At a kebab restaurant in the Karrada district, Jaffar Hani, a 22-year-old butcher, said the country would be better off without him. "Saddam Hussein, he doesn't deserve to live for all the things he did," Hani said.

Egyptian-Born NYPD Lieutenant Accuses Cyberterrorism Unit of Anti-Muslim Rhetoric

NEW YORK — A celebrated police anti-terrorism cyber unit became a beehive of anti-Muslim rhetoric after a city consultant unleashed hundreds of hateful e-mails saying Muslims and Arabs were all potential terrorists, a unit member said in a lawsuit filed Tuesday.

The Department of Correction lieutenant, listed as John Doe Anti-Terrorism Officer on the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, said he was subjected to a hostile work environment, great emotional anguish, public humiliation and illegal retaliation.

The Egyptian-born man asked for unspecified damages, saying he had suffered severe emotional distress, mental anguish, depression, physical injuries, illness, loss of pay and benefits and loss of advancement opportunities as a member of the elite anti-terror unit.

The man, described in the lawsuit as "a proud Arab-American, a practicing Muslim and a patriot," blamed the city for failing to respond to his repeated complaints about the contractor, who was alleged to have sent e-mails saying "Burning the hate-filled Koran should be viewed as a public service at the least" and "Without Islam, there wouldn't be any Islamic terror."
