Israel prepares to strike Iran from Gulf and N. Iraq

Egyptian military sources have put out information purporting to outline Israel's preparations to strike Iran.
They report that the Israeli Navy together with the US Fifth Fleet have for some weeks been charting Persian Gulf waters and Iranian shorelines in preparation for attacks by Israeli naval and special operations forces.
IDF intelligence and special forces officers, they also say, have been marking out routes for their air and ground forces to drive into Iran and hit its nuclear installations. ![]()

The Antigua-flagged arms ship Francop commandeered by the Israeli Navy early Wednesday, Nov. 4, near Cyprus, carried 300 containers, in 40 of which hundreds of tons of Iranian arms for Hizballah were hidden, said Israeli Navy commander Brig.-Gen Ronnie Ben-Yehuda in a news briefing Wednesday, Nov 3. Most of it was ammo, grenades, 122-km Katyusha rockets, mortar shells and anti-tank missiles, enough to keep Hizballah fighting for a month or more.

The Palestinian leadership accused the US of caving in over Israeli
settlements after Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State, praised Israel
for making concessions.
Having failed to force Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, to meet
US demands for a total settlement freeze, Mrs Clinton switched tack during a
one-day visit to Jerusalem when she called on both sides to resume peace
talks.
“What the Prime Minister has offered in specifics of a restraint on the policy
of settlements . . . is unprecedented,” Mrs Clinton said.
