Palestinian Leadership angers as Secretary of State praises “Unprecedented Restraint on the Policy of Settlements”

clipped from www.timesonline.co.uk

The Palestinian leadership accused the US of caving in over Israeli
settlements after Hillary Clinton, the Secretary of State, praised Israel
for making concessions.

Having failed to force Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, to meet
US demands for a total settlement freeze, Mrs Clinton switched tack during a
one-day visit to Jerusalem when she called on both sides to resume peace
talks.

“What the Prime Minister has offered in specifics of a restraint on the policy
of settlements . . . is unprecedented,” Mrs Clinton said.

Abdullah Abduallah pulls out – should we?

Abdullah Abduallah pulls out - should we?

Abdullah Abdullah, Hamid Karzai's main rival for office of President of Afghanistan, has withdrawn from the scheduled November 7 runoff election there, saying his demands for ensuring a fraud-free election had not been met. However, he stopped short of calling for his supporters to boycott the vote.

While most reports explain that the legitimacy of the Afghan government would be damaged if the runoff elections proceed without Abdullah's participation, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton offers a dissenting point of view: "We see that happen in our own country where, for whatever combination of reasons, one of the candidates decides not to go forward," she said. "I don't think it has anything to do with the legitimacy of the election. It's a personal choice which may or may not be made."

EVIL-MONGERING ELDERLY ATTACK AGAIN

Found the following excerpt over at Michelle Malkins blog

  • No shouting. Congressional representatives cannot sell Obamacare with mobs of unruly senior citizens and small business owners interrupting to press them on specific sections of the bill.
  • Do refrain from boisterous shrieking against those who accuse you of lacking patriotism - unless you are Hillary Clinton, who bellowed at the top of her lungs in 2003: “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.”
  • No laughing. Snickering at proponents of nationalized health care is rude, bordering on political terrorism. Stifle all derisive chuckling at bogus statistics and denials that Obamacare will lead to long lines and rationed care. That would be “evil-mongering,” as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid put it on Thursday.
