The national news all too often highlights political leaders who do not represent the values of people of faith; consequently, many God-fearing citizens wrongly believe that few elected officials share our moral and religious convictions. But such a conclusion is wrong. There are literally hundreds of elected officials at the state level (and even scores in Congress) who do not only share but are outspoken about our Judeo-Christian values. One such official is Rep. Sally Kern of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

I have been sitting around thinking about this subject all day. I knew last night that I was going to write this article. I kind of know what I want to say. And I will hope that it comes out the way that I want it to come out. Let me say up front what I want to accomplish with this piece. I want to set a few things straight for some of the folks that frequent the site. I have had this feeling over the last couple of weeks as I read the comments and discussions that I could not put my finger on.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation was founded in 2005 by Mikey Weinstein, a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate and Reagan administration White House counsel, after the harassment his own sons faced as Jewish cadets at the academy led him to discover that the fundamentalist Christian takeover of the Air Force Academy was far from an isolated problem. It was a militarywide issue that needed to be confronted head on. But it quickly became apparent that MRFF’s initial mission of protecting the rights of our men and women in uniform was only addressing part of the problem.

Another very good book by Ron Paul. Although less of the book was new to me than End the Fed , it is very well written and the ideas contained within are articulately laid out. There were some areas with which I disagreed, but after reading about Ron Paul’s ideas, I would support him for President before I would support a McCain or any other RINO. Ron Paul is truly “conservative” in his ideas (and I do not mean “morally” conservative, although he may be that, too, but politically and “legally” conservative), and our country would certainly be better off if we adopted most of his ideas.

September 23 , 2009  |  Vol. 4, No. 38   Turning the Senate into the Chicago City Council by Newt Gingrich “Using the budget reconciliation process to pass health reform and climate change legislation…would violate the intent and spirit of the budget process, and do serious injury to the constitutional role of the Senate.” These are not the words of a Republican or a conservative activist. This is a warning issued on April 2 of this year from the former Democratic Majority Leader in the Senate, Robert C.
