Against the background of a darkening sky, all of the past Presidents of the United States gather before the White House, as if to commemorate some great event. In the left hand corner of the painting sits a man. That man, with his head bowed appears distraught and hopeless as he contemplates his future. Some of the past Presidents try to console him while looking in the direction of the modern Presidents as if to say, “What have you done?” Many of these modern Presidents, seemingly oblivious to anything other than themselves, appear to be congratulating each other on their great accomplishments. In front of the man, paper trash is blowing in the wind. Crumpled dollar bills, legislative documents, and, like a whisper—the U.S. Constitution beneath the foot of Barack Obama.
This one has been building for awhile, and I’ll start it with a caveat. Personally, I think racism is abhorent, disgusting and has no place in our society. And I have fought against it for most of my adult life. Yet as I wrote last week, the reality is thatthere are racists in every political party.
Then over the weekend, I had a race discussion with some college-educated, self-professed Democrats who had no idea that President Lincoln was a Republican and that the Democrat party fought to maintain slavery in the South. They were also unaware of the history of racist Dixie Democrats. They had completely bought into the myth that the Republican Party was racist through and through, and as far as they were concerned, the Democrats had always fought for minorities.
Then last week , I did the story on Mary Frances Berry and her stunning admission that branding the tea party as racist was a Democratic political tactic and not a truth. So my anger at Democrats for their glaring historical race hypocrisy has indeed been escalating, which has lead to this post.
Finally, let me say that I likely could have found a similar treatise on the history of racism within the Republican party (Jesses Helms comes quickly to mind), and perhaps I will do such a post one day.
But, the truth is that on the hypocrisy scale regarding race relations, no one can hold a candle to the Democratic party. When you count ‘using the race card’ as one of your political strategies as Democrats are doing, well then, I have no choice but to slap you around like the lying, hypocritical punks that you truly are. All future happenings here at TIN are in a beta state. There may be a full overhaul coming soon…and then again… there may just be what ever you see now.

A group of black conservatives were explaining their affiliation with the Tea Party movement during the “Restoring Honor” event in Washington DC. A couple of liberal counter-protesters began challenging their political and religious beliefs and asked why they affiliated with Christianity, a “white man’s religion”. H/T Breitbart.tv
